Jim's one story home has 2,400 square feet and was built in 2004. Many doors in the home were not operating well, if at all. The builder had made several unsuccessful attempts to shim the house up and repair the cracks. A level survey performed by others indicated the North East bedroom had lifted 4 5/8 inches.
Based on a soils report, the homeowner and his engineer decided to provide an 8 inch void under the foundation that would account for any future soil movement.
Foundation Repair of Western Colorado LLC installed twenty six (26) Supportworks Push Piers at the exterior of the home, eleven (11) at the garage exterior, and three (3) in the crawlspace, for a total of forty (40) Push Piers. Additionally, two (2) slab piers were installed inside the garage.
The home was lifted 8 inches above original grade and brought to within 1/4 inch of level. The utility platform was lifted with the abetted stem wall by employing two slab piers. After the home was brought back to level and permanently stabilized, the crack repairs should be the final ones needed.
